See How They Run -- Auditions

Hannibal Community Theatre will be holding auditions for their Spring, 2009 production of the hilarious comedy, See How They Run, by Philip King. Auditions will be held on Monday, February 23rd and Tuesday, February 24th at 7:00 pm (calendar) at the Hannibal Community Theatre on the corner of 6th and Lyon St. (map)

In this typical British farce, which is set in England at the end of World War II, a variety of oddball characters will be galloping in and out of the four doors of an English Vicarage. Six men and three women will be needed to fill the following roles:  The Reverend Lionel Toop, the Vicar; his young, attractive wife, Penelope, an American actress; Corporal Clive Winton, a handsome American soldier; Ida, a maid; Miss Skillon, the prim village busybody; the Bishop of Lax, Penelope’s stern uncle; The Reverend Arthur Humphrey, a visiting cleric; Sergeant Towers, a police investigator; and The Intruder, an escaped Russian Spy.  During auditions, everyone will be required to read from the script. Actors can be of various ages, but must be able to play adult roles. HCT encourages newcomers to come out for auditions and welcomes participation by all.

The rehearsal period for See How They Run will begin during the second week of March and will continue through the production dates of April 17th-19th and April 24th-26th (calendar).  Those auditioning should come prepared to list any conflicts with work, school, sports, trips, other evening or weekend commitments, etc. For more information, contact the director, Cheryl Shadensack, at 221-6618 or use our contact page.
